Policies & Waivers

Booking Policies

  • Minimum number of booking participants for a tour to go: Three (3).
  • Single bookings will be wait-listed for the chosen date or dates you wish to participate. Once the minimum booking is achieved for any tour on the date or dates you have chosen, you will then be contacted via phone, email or both.
  • Billing information will be collected at the time of Booking.
  • There is a $15 per person non-refundable Booking fee to hold your reservation.
  • All Cancellations must be via email.
  • We only rent kayaks to people who have coastal kayaking experience and have the necessary ‘practical skills’ to take care of themselves both on and off the water.

Cancellation Policies

Elite, Resort, Corporate and Private Kayaking contracts may be negotiated individually and have somewhat different criteria and parameters for cancellations.

Because we pride ourselves on exceptional service and outstanding value, when you make a reservation, we hold a place just for you. In addition, we keep our guest-to-guide ratio LOW for your safety and enjoyment. In order to maintain our high standards, please understand that we must adhere to the following cancellation policies.

Once you book a trip with us we protect those spots that you have reserved. Unlike other industries, we do not overbook our kayak tours to hedge against potential cancellations. Considerable time, money, and staff preparation goes into creating our great kayak trips.

We are committed to providing you with the experience you asked for, and conversely we ask that you commit to honoring your reservation.

Trips will go rain or shine. Active thunderstorms or named tropical systems affecting the paddling window will cause a trip to be cancelled. Our guides and Director of Safety will make the final determination on whether or not a trip is called due to weather.

Full Refund: We reserve the right to change any itinerary to match existing conditions. All open water and marsh trips will be moved to a protected venue in the event of winds over 10 kts.  If we must cancel due to unsafe or unsuitable weather or sea conditions (Tropical Storms, Active Thunderstorms, etc…), you will have your choice of credit/rain check, or a full refund. We are not responsible for non-refundable hotel or transportation costs in the event of a cancelled trip. The $15.00/person booking fee is non-refundable.

Partial Refund: If you cancel more than 5-days before your tour, you will receive a refund or credit (your choice), less a $15/person service charge.

No Refund: No refund or credit will be given if you cancel less than 5-days before your tour or if you fail to attend any part of it. In the event of last-minute changes in your plans, you may substitute another paddler provided they meet any skill or experience requirements.

Tour Policies

  • All participants must sign a Release of Liability Waiver prior to tour.
  • It is your responsibility to inform us of medical conditions, ailments, disabilities, allergies, injuries or other conditions that may affect the safety of yourself and the group.
  • Life Jackets (PFDs) must be worn and fastened at all times while on the water.
  • Consumption of alcohol while renting or participating in any program is strictly prohibited.
  • As a participant in this water-sport activity all adults must be able to swim for the safety of staff and other participants.

Rental Policies

  • You must be over 21-y/o in order to rent kayaks. No renters under 21 without a parent or guardian.
  • PFD’s (Personal Flotation Devices) must be worn at all times.
  • No Drugs or Alcohol Permitted.
  • There is a $15 per person non-refundable Booking fee to hold your reservation.
  • You are responsible for returning all gear in the condition in which you received it. Damaged, lost or stolen kayaks or equipment will be charged to renter.
  • We only rent kayaks to people who have coastal kayaking experience and have the necessary ‘practical skills’ to take care of themselves both on and off the water.
  • Do not drag boats, use equipment in any other way than it was designed to be used, do not sit on PFD’s or leave gear in the mud. Keep gear reasonably clean; cleaning fees may be charged for boats or equipment covered in mud or requiring excessive cleaning.
  • You are responsible for securing kayaks and gear above the high tide line and protected from the wind and weather (don’t let the gear blow away or get carried away by the tides).
  • Shuttle fees apply kayaks not picked-up in Downtown St. Marys. Minimum Shuttle Fee to Crooked River State Park is $20.00. The Shuttle Fee on Amelia Island/Lofton Creek is $50.00.
  • Renters transporting kayaks and gear are responsible for safely and securely attaching the kayak(s) to their vehicle and for any damage caused to their vehicle, the kayak(s) and/or gear or any other vehicle, person or property as a result of transporting the kayak and gear.
  • No Pets. We Love Animals; but it is simply not safe to carry pets in kayaks in Coastal Georgia. Alligators have been known to come out of the water and across the top of a kayak to get at a dog riding on the boat.
